Product websiteThe Kyo Multi-File Uploader is a free FileMaker add-on that brings modern, drag-and-drop multi-file uploading to any FileMaker solution. Out of the box, FileMaker allows selecting only one file at a time. This add-on lets teams upload photos, PDFs, spreadsheets, drawings, and more in a single step; reducing clicks, improving speed, and creating a smoother workflow for document-heavy processes.
What You Can Do
• Upload multiple files at once to the current record
• Preview, download, or delete files from a simple, built-in portal
• Keep documents tied to customers, orders, projects, jobs, or tickets
• Store files in the included table or point the add-on to your own document table
Quick Start (About 5 Minutes)
1. Open the KYO_MultiFileUploader-Addon file and run Create Add-on.
2. Install the add-on in your target solution using the Add-ons panel.
3. Drag the uploader onto a layout and link it to your layout’s primary key.
4. Optionally redirect the storage workflow to your existing Documents/Files table.
How It Works in Daily Use
Users click the Upload Files button, drag one or more files into the pop-up window, then upload them directly to the active record. Files appear in the portal below, where users can preview, download, or delete them as needed.
Common Use Cases
• Field inspections and service visits (photos, checklists)
• Sales and account management (proposals, statements of work)
• Operations and projects (drawings, specs, certifications)
• Support and helpdesk workflows (screenshots, logs)
Styling and Configuration
The add-on is designed to drop onto any layout and can be styled to match your theme. Use your own button styles, portal look, or card-style containers. The script uploader_Upload File includes clear, commented steps to attach files to your primary key and direct files to your chosen table.
Requirements and Compatibility
• FileMaker 19 or later
• Works in hosted or local files
• Requires basic configuration to match your layout and table structure
Security and Deployment
Privilege sets can control who may upload or delete files. If you redirect storage to a custom table, ensure account access and field permissions are aligned. Always test in a copy before deploying.
Troubleshooting Highlights
• If the add-on does not appear, confirm you ran Create Add-on and restarted FileMaker.
• If files attach to the wrong record, verify the $id assignment in the script.
• If files do not appear, check field mappings and table occurrences.
• If a portal is empty, confirm relationships and primary key matching.
